A Disney princess question
Hi! i was just wondering what everyone's first princess doll was that they received and if it had any affect on who your favorite princess is now?

I'll go first so you guys out there in LJ land can see what I'm talking about.

My first princess doll I received was Ariel. Ariel was also my first favorite princess. i LOVE her because we have a lot in common personality wise. Also, Jodi Benson's voice helped me a lot growing up.

As I’ve stated before, Ariel was the first person who ever told me I was worth anything and that I was special. Her words of truth stuck with me and were the light in the darkness during the hard times of my childhood.

Now as of today, my favorite princess hasn't changed. It's still Ariel. I love Jasmine, Cinderella and Belle as well, but Ariel will always be my first favorite. I have four Ariel dolls, which goes to show you how much I love her. GOL! GOL means giggles out loud. I have a plush Ariel doll, a baby Ariel, a regular sized Ariel doll and a slightly smaller one. All of them hold a very special place in my heart.

How about the rest of you?
I’d love to hear your whale of a tail! I mean story!

I actually never had a Disney Doll, my parents wouldn't buy them for me because they said I was too old to play with dolls once I entered first grade and they preferred that I do art projects and study business. My parents actually made a game out of the stock market. And once I hit middle school, I didn't really have time for most movies, and think I started watching much more live action historical with my older brothers when I did. I think the last animated movie I saw as a kid was Tarzan and I was 10. I do remember my mum taking me to Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, and Alice in Wonderland as a small kid, though but they didn't like cartoons much.

Though I do remember my friend and I being obsessed with Mulan one summer, since my friend was going to be visiting China in the fall. We were only ten and such silly kids, we would dress up in kimonos from her time in Japan (knowing full well it was the wrong country) and pretend to save China. I can't believe my friend and I were so cute as kids. I'll have to get the pictures out sometime.

About Ariel, I used to find that movie so funny, since Ariel is originally a boy's name. As a child, I knew so many boys named Ariel that I used to wonder if the Little Mermaid was a boy. I was a weird little kid, hehe.

Though I'm still a kid at heart, I love Fantasia and it inspired my love of Dukas and program music. I'm still a huge Tchaikovsky fan due to Disney.

Neat! I only knew Ariel to be a girl's name, so that's what I associated with. I actually had two girlfirends in school named Ariel! GOL! They were both really nice. Only one of them had red hair. GOL!

Hey,

I really like all the princesses, plus the other disney girls for different reasons. I think my first doll was Jasmine, then ariel was my second. I had Poccahauntus and Esmeralda too! :)
I'm actually thinking of collecting them again! lol!
Love bubbles and Star xxx

I don't know that I ever had any. People would insist on giving me Barbies, of course, but I was never a doll kind of girl. I was more of a "play outside" kind of kid. Though I had quite a collection of Troll dolls.

i don't remember ever having any disney princess dolls
but my favorite is Belle. she loves to read and uses her books to escape the everyday, like i do. she taught us to look beyond the outside, by falling in love with the beast, and to reach out if you want more, be cause you never know what you might get.
